I'm David with Friendly Computers and I'm here to tell you about the importance of a firewall and your wireless network. When you have your wireless network set up, you always want to make sure you have some form of firewall, whether it be from intruders coming from the outside being able to get into your network or whether it be intruders coming from directly over the internet and the different programs such as Limewire or Bearshare. Different programs like that, where you can download stuff and it can cause massive problems on your system, because people can get into there get with viruses or whatnot onto your system and you want to make sure you have a good firewall to have you protected. Now, different firewalls that there are include some of your modems or routers come with built in firewalls and windows also comes with a firewall. Primary users are probably going to be using the windows firewall. It's the simplest, most easiest usually most updated version of the firewall out there. But, if you are wanting that added security for business and you have a lot of personal stuff that you just don't want people getting into to you definitely going to want to call a professional to come and set up a firewall exactly the way you need it set up, because sometimes those firewalls can end up preventing you from being able to do what you want to do and, also, prevents people from getting into you, but once again if you don't get that firewall set up correctly you are going to be having trouble getting onto your own system, being able to get onto the internet and doing what you want to do. If you want to get to your windows firewall, which may or may not already be set up all you have to do is click on start, go to all programs, accessories, system tools, and then from there click on security center. Once that comes up, you will have an option of setting up your automatic updates, internet options and, of course, your firewall. In this case, once it comes up you can just click on either turn if off or turn it on, which is recommended, and then OK. And once you've done that, you have your firewall set up with your basic windows firewall.
