BREAKING - Drake accepts SEVERELY reduced plea bargin - http://tinyurl.com/3pcjys6
"In exchange, Drake, who was facing 35 years in prison if convicted of violating the Espionage Act, will plead guilty to a misdemeanor of exceeding authorized use of a computer. He will pay no fine, and the maximum probation time he can serve will be capped at one year."
the charge that Lamo makes when he says "you havn't seen all the logs. he raised his authority clearance level" seems to be a new accusation which could seriously affect the case, as this implys actual hacking. The alternative is that Manning did not do this, and thus the info was simply mismanaged and the responsibility lies with the USG to protect this info. If anyone has seen this accusation elsewhere, please let me know.
the closest he seems to come to talkin about the weakness of the system in the chat logs is here:

(02:17:56 PM) Manning: weak servers, weak logging, weak physical security, weak counter-intelligence, inattentive signal analysis... a perfect storm
