AT&T has a sneaky plan.
It wants to exploit a loophole in the Federal Communications Commission (FCC)’s rules to kill what remains of the public telecommunications network — and all of the consumer protections that go with it. It’s the final step in AT&T’s decade-long effort to end all telecommunications regulation, and the simplicity of the plan highlights a dysfunction unique to the American regulatory system.
AT&T and other big telecom carriers want to replace the portions of their networks that still use circuit-switching technology with equipment that uses Internet Protocol (IP) to route voice and data traffic. But because the FCC previously decided that it has no direct authority over communications networks that use IP, this otherwise routine technological upgrade could lead to a state of total deregulation.
We are already living with the consequences of the FCC IP decision: an uncompetitive broadband market. Our broadband providers enjoy the kinds of high profit margins that would make a 19th-century robber baron blush. And our ability to use these networks to communicate openly and freely is under constant assault. Meanwhile, consumers in other countries not only have better access, but they pay far less for far better services.
But there are large portions of the public telecom network that don’t use IP, and that are still subject to varying degrees of regulatory oversight — including traditional landlines, alarm circuits, and many of the “special access” connections that carry voice and data traffic from cellular towers.
Now AT&T wants approval to convert all of this to an all-IP system. And because of the FCC’s flawed view of IP, this move would jettison all of the public interest protections that govern common carriers like AT&T. (The centuries-old “common carriage” concept applied to entities like railroads, shippers, and telecoms that transport goods often using public rights-of-way; since these functions are critical to commerce, common carriers are usually regulated even if they don’t operate in monopoly markets).
The immediate consumer impact of AT&T’s proposal would be swift and severe:
Higher prices. Remember what happened after California partially deregulated AT&T in 2006? The price of some basic voice services tripled. AT&T wants to make this happen everywhere. Also, the ability of many smaller wireless carriers to offer competitively priced services is based on specific regulations that prevent special access providers like AT&T and Verizon from charging exorbitant rates. These protections against monopoly prices will disappear if AT&T gets its way.
Service disruptions. Brinksmanship between AT&T and smaller wireless carriers that use the public network to transport their own traffic would lead to telecom blackouts. Just look at how cable customers are held hostage in carriage spats between cable providers and content owners. The rules that require carriers to get networks back online after outages would also be history if the FCC approves AT&T’s petition.
Inequality and discrimination. Seniors, low-income families, and rural residents — all of whom are more likely to rely on fixed-line voice services or dial-up internet access — would especially feel the pinch. Carriers that are now required to offer universal service will be free to redline poor neighborhoods and disconnect consumers at will. Elderly grandmothers living on fixed incomes rely on rate-regulated landlines to stay connected, but they need not worry: AT&T has an expensive wireless plan they can purchase instead.
It’s bad enough that we’re on the verge of losing all of the consumer protections that keep the price of basic voice service reasonable and ensure the most vulnerable stay connected. But by putting the last nail in the coffin of the public telecommunications network, AT&T’s plan poses an even greater threat to the future of American innovation and internet freedom.
This is because the internet itself would not exist if it were not for a delicate balance of public policies that made sure the public telecommunications network was an open platform: Anyone could use it as a building block for innovation.
Before the FCC adopted rules to keep the public network open, companies like AT&T were able to prohibit customers from using the network for anything other than what it approved. (We wouldn’t have been allowed to have answering machines, for example, if AT&T didn’t approve them.) Thanks to the FCC’s intervention then and continuing oversight, Bob Kahn and Vint Cerf didn’t need AT&T’s permission to connect computers. They simply used the public network as a platform to launch the IP technology that led to the internet we all use today.
When Congress updated the Communications Act in 1996, lawmakers reinforced this clear separation between devices on the edges of networks and the wires that connect them. And this approach worked: Consumers had choices for cheap long distance. There were dozens of dial-up ISPs, and even multiple options for DSL and cable modem service. Prices dropped, quality improved, and investment soared.
While the rest of the world followed this American blueprint to great success, our captive regulators dismantled the competitive framework, replacing it with nothing more than the vain hope the market would sort it all out. So it should come as no surprise that the rest of the world is busy undertaking its own transition to all-IP networks without threatening the basic consumer protections that ensure universal access to essential communications services.
We stand at the edge of a cliff, and AT&T is eager to jump. It’s the FCC’s own bad decisions that led us to this cliff. But it’s not too late to step back. In updating its rules for an all-IP world, the FCC shouldn’t let the carriers kill off the public telecom network. We can protect consumer rights and free-market commerce without sacrificing the infrastructure’s open nature and its potential as a platform for innovation.

m.wisegeek.comIntelligence quotient (IQ) is a measurement of how well people learn or solve problems and, according to most tests, a high IQ would be anything above about 110. Most experts consider anything above 120 to be a very high IQ, and most consider anything above 140 to be in the genius range. IQs between 90 and 110 are usually considered average under most metrics. There are many different kinds of tests used to measure IQ, and they may yield slightly different results with different people because they focus more heavily on different aspects of the thinking process.
According to experts, many people have the wrong idea about what IQ really represents. For example, some people think that anybody who knows many facts and is extremely knowledgeable would have a high IQ rating. Sometimes this can be true, but not always. IQ simply measures a person's ability to solve problems, deal with new situations, and learn things quickly. Some people become experts in their fields with only an average ability in these areas by applying themselves more thoroughly, and some people with very high IQs never really use them for anything that greatly benefits their lives.
IQ tests often challenge people in very different ways, and this can make them produce different results. For example, some IQ tests are timed while others aren't, and someone who scores very high on a test without a time limit might do somewhat worse on the timed test. There are also IQ tests with slightly different focuses; some may focus more on abstract thinking, for example, while others may test mathematical calculation abilities more rigorously. Someone who has a learning disability with math might do very well on every other aspect of an IQ test, and will generally measure much higher on tests with less of a math focus.
Studies have suggested that a high IQ can be a pretty good predictor for success in life, but it is not generally considered the best indicator. Some tests have been developed that measure a person's aptitude for self-discipline, and these have generally shown that discipline may be much more important. Most of the studies on this have been performed on school children, so there is some uncertainty about how well it translates to adult life. There is also some question about whether or not IQ tests fully measure all the important thinking abilities, and some think they fail to capture many important factors of intelligence, such as imagination.

m.wisegeek.com |An intelligence quotient, or IQ, is a numerical value assigned to an individual based on his or her performance on one or more standardized tests which are designed to determine or assess the person's inherent or genetic intelligence. The range for an IQ starts at zero and, in theory, has no upper limit, although the highest IQ scores ever recorded are around 200. Statistics show that approximately 95% of the population have IQ scores between 70 and 130, making a "normal IQ" 100.
Although there are an infinite number of tests that claim to test a person's IQ, there are a few that are widely used and recognized. The Stanford-Binet and the Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale and Intelligence Scale for Children are just a few reputable tests used to determine whether someone has a normal IQ. Studies indicate that, although test scores may vary somewhat from one test to the other, scores tend to stay relatively constant regardless of the test taken.
In terms of what is considered a normal IQ, scientists have determined that 95% of all test takers score within two standard deviations of the mean. For purposes of an IQ test, one standard deviation is 15 points. The median score is set at 100, which means that the vast majority of all test takers score within 30 points on either side of the median — or between 70 and 130. Although 100 is the median, most experts consider a "normal IQ" to be anything within one to two deviations of the median, or in the 70 to 130 range.
When a test taker's IQ surpasses the normal IQ range, he or she is usually considered to be "gifted" or to have a "genius" IQ. Opinions differ with regard to where "normal" leaves off and "gifted" and "genius" begin. The general consensus, however, puts tests takers who score above 115 to 120 in the "gifted" category and those who score above 130 to 140 in the "genius" category.
Likewise, test takers who score below 70 are also considered to be outside the normal IQ range. An IQ score below 70 is considered to be a sign of mental retardation, or intellectual disability, by most experts. Many experts consider a score between 70 and 80 to be at the lower range, or borderline range, of intellectual functioning. Scores below 70 indicate mild to severe mental retardation, or the inability to function at a normal intellectual level.

In January of 2002, I posted an article to this web site titled Goodbye Chemtrails, Hello Blue Skies which described a simple, homemade invention called a Chembuster. This new invention, inspired by Wilhelm Reich's Cloudbuster, demonstrated that it was possible to disperse and break up chemtrails, allowing for a return of normal blueness to the sky, an invigoration of the air with a clean, fresh smell and the production of rain in those areas where drought is being artificially created by HAARP and other secret weather controlling technologies. The Chembuster incorporates three common elements that, when mixed together, produce an orgone generator, a device which transmutes the negative polarity of atmospheric orgone energy into the positive polarity of that energy. The negative polarity of orgone, coined "DOR" by Wilhelm Reich, is the "glue" which holds chemtrails together. Reversing the polarity of the atmospheric orgone envelope causes the chemtrails to break up and disperse. Over the next two years, as more Chembusters were being constructed and set up by readers who became aware of this phenomenon, the concentration of atmospheric DOR sufficiently reduced in those areas to allow an influx of Giant Sylphs into the 'chembusted' atmospere. Sylphs are intelligent air elementals which can literally overlay and transmute chemtrails into real clouds. I realize that it's hard to believe that ordinary people can destroy chemtrails in the manner described, but we have the photos and testimonials to confirm the claim. No one has to continue to tolerate chemtrail 'bombardments' any longer. You can clear your sky of chemtrails! Read the links and view the photos to understand more about Sylphs and chemtrails.A smaller orgone generating device which utilizes similar construction materials, was coined an HHG, but I find that a Pyramid or Dome shaped five crystal orgone generator more descriptive. The Pyramid or dome shaped Orgone Generator seems to help mitigate energies intended for Mind Control and other nefarious purposes that are being radiated from underground facilities (Montauk), HAARP, microwave GWEN towers and affiliated ELF microwave antennaes (commonly called 'cell phone' towers) which have sprung up like daisies all over this country beginning in 2001.Orgone generators can also 'neutralize' underground military bases, masonic lodges, places of satanic ritual activity, etc.
The success being achieved to date by a handful of dedicated people who are building and deploying these devices is very impressive. Introduction
In previous articles of the "PLIM REPORT," we have covered the true names of our Heavenly Father, His Son, and the Holy Spirit; Yahweh, Elohim, and Yahshua. What we have not explained is the context or circumstances in which the True name of Yahweh was revealed unto Moses at the burning bush (Ex. 3:1), which will be the intent of this article. To fully understand Egyptian reverence of a name, one must have a basic knowledge of Egyptian concepts and customs.
Many times when reading the scriptures, one does not have a context for the world that no longer exists at the time the scriptures were written. Unless one has the proper perspective, the true interpretation cannot be fully understood.
To grasp why Moses asked the angel at the burning bush for Elohim’s name, one has to understand the importance of a name and magic in the Egyptian culture. This insight into the Egyptian belief system will also explain why Israel substituted the title Adonai for Yahweh. In short, the Egyptians believed in magic and that names had great importance long before Elohim gave His name at the burning bush.
One of the first points one must understand is that Egyptians practiced magic at the time of Moses and were very superstitious from a modern point of view.
Egypt was the land of black magic and names were of primary importance in their superstition.
What is His Name?
One has to understand that Moses spent 40 years in Egypt as a member of Pharaoh’s household. This meant he was educated as a member of the royal family and was familiar with all the customs of Egypt (Acts. 7:22).
Moses killed an Egyptian for ill-treating an Israelite and fled into the wilderness of Sinai, where he spent 40 years. It was here that he married Jethro’s daughter, who was the priest of Midian.
Now Moses had a vision of an angel in a burning bush who gave him a commission to return to Egypt and deliver Israel out of Egyptian bondage. Moses asked the angel the following question. "… Behold, when I come unto the children of Israel, and shall say unto them, The Elohim (God) of your fathers hath sent me unto you; and they shall say to me, What is his name? what shall I say unto them? And Elohim (God) said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM (I will be what I will to be): and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM (I will be) hath sent me unto you (Ex 3:13-14)."
Now the point being made here is that Moses asked the angel for a name? The Israelites had been in Egypt many years and had adapted a number of their customs. So, to understand the question, one has to understand the Egyptian custom concerning the name and magic.
Was magic a part of the Egyptian culture?
The Old Testament gives very little history of Egypt or the Egyptian customs concerning magic and the names. One must do some research to determine what the Egyptians believed to fully understand the importance of a name in Egyptian culture.
Manly P. Hall, a 33o Mason, wrote in his classical work The Secret Teaching of All Ages the following. "Egypt, a great center of learning and the birth place of many arts and science, furnished an ideal environment for transcendental experimentation. Here black magicians of Atlantis continued to exercise their superhuman powers until they completely undermined and corrupted the morals of the primitive Mysteries."
Mr. Hall goes on to define ceremonial magic as the ancient art of controlling spirits by applying specific scientific formulas. A magician in his robe with his wand could use certain words of power and symbols to effect certain results.
Now quoting from the book Words Of Power by (Llwellyn Publications) Brain & Esther Crowley, they state the following about Egyptian magic being the basis for all science. "Ritual magic, or za, permeated all aspects of ancient Egyptian civilization, not only the expected areas of medicine, healing and prophecy. To the Egyptians, magic was regarded as an exact science. All gods, people, creatures and objects were considered to be imbued with a definable spiritual force that at once could be contacted, and controlled-when the correct words of command were utilized. There was a distinct belief in divine guidance and divine involvement in all human affairs (p. 111)."
In the Egyptian mindset the utterance of the correct words brought about certain spiritual powers for the person. The book Words Of Power further explains this scientific magic. "The first of three major basic principles governing Egyptian magical science was that sound itself possessed an intrinsic dynamic form. It was widely held that by simply uttering the name of a being or an inanimate object that being or object could be called into existence, thus paralleling the very act of original creation. A reigning pharaoh would preface any new decree with the words ‘I am the Great Word’ indicating that he was capable of conferring life. A magician would begin all spells with the words "peret herou," literally "that which comes forth at the voice."
Thus, the mere utterance of an object’s name brought its materialization in Egyptian magic. With this understanding of magic one can see the importance of a name, especially in terms of a god. This was why Moses asked for the name of the god of Israel’s fathers, for he knew that names had power.
What are "names of power"?
Now that an understanding of the basic principles of Egyptian magic have been grasped, one can examine the concept of "names of power" in the Egyptian culture. Today in our modern scientific culture these concepts appear very superstitious, but one has to keep in mind that this was an era where magic ruled, as modern science and technology do today.
E. A. Wallis Budge in his book Egyptian Magic (Dover Publications Inc.) states the following about the power of the names to the Egyptian. "The Egyptians, like most Oriental nations, attached very great importance to the knowledge of names, and the knowledge of how to use and to make mention of names which possessed magical powers was a necessity both for the living and the dead. It was believed that if a man knew the name of a god or a devil, and addressed him by it, he was bound to answer him and to do whatever he wished; and the possession of the knowledge of the name of a man enabled his neighbor to do him good or evil (p. 157)."
Lewis Spence (Senate), in his book Egypt shows the following connection between the names of power and magic. "One of the most striking circumstances in connexion with Egyptian magic was the use of what has come to be known as ‘names of power.’ … To return to Egypt, we find that many Egyptians received two names-the ‘great’ name and the little ‘name,’ or the ‘ true’ name and the ‘ good’ name, the latter was made public, but the ‘true’ or ‘great’ name was most carefully concealed. We find the use of these ‘names of power’ extremely common all over the East. Even today, in reading the sacred name, Jahveh, the Jews render it ‘Adonai’; but nowhere was its use in such vogue as in Egypt (p. 258-259)."
Why is Yahweh a "name of power"?
Understanding Egyptian magic and "names of power," it becomes clear why the angel of Elohim gave Moses a name Yahweh or Ayah Asher Ayah and miraculous signs and wonders. In order for Elohim to reveal himself to Pharaoh and Israel, Elohim had to work with the mindset of the people who were immersed in superstition, magic, and names of power.
Since the Egyptians defined reality in this way, Elohim worked through their mindset. To introduce himself, as the true and only Creator of Heaven and Earth, He gave Moses the name Yahweh in which great signs and wonders were manifest. Moses wrote that Elohim said: "And the Egyptians shall know that I am the Yahweh (LORD), when I stretch forth mine hand upon Egypt, and bring out the children of Israel from among them (Ex 7:5)."
In reality, this was a contest between Moses and Aaron versus Pharaoh and his magicians, which represent the two mysteries; the Mystery of Righteousness and the Mystery of Iniquity. It was at this time that Elohim choose Moses and Aaron to cast down the sorcery and magic by the higher power of Yahweh and establish Israel as a people that had power with Yahweh. Although neither Israel nor the Egyptians understood at the time, it was not the literal vocalization of the name "Yahweh" that invoked power, but faith in certain principles. Thus, Israel was supposed to be a model to the Gentile nations by magnifying His name and following His divine laws (Deut. 4:6).

British Empires of the Mind: Psychological Warfare Directorate for Tavistock Ops
At the start of World War II, Tavistock operatives, including Brig. Gen. John Rawlings Rees in the Psychological Warfare Directorate, were busy at work on a secret language project. The target of that project was not the ``enemy,'' but the English language itself, and the English-speaking people.The Tavistock crowd had picked up on the work of British linguist C.K. Ogden, who had created a simplified version of the English language using some 850 basic words (650 nouns and 200 verbs), with rigid rules for their use. Called ``Basic English,'' or ``Basic'' for short, the product was ridiculed by most English-speaking intellectuals; Ogden's proposal to translate Classic literature, such as Marlowe and Shakespeare, into Basic, was rightfully attacked as an effort to trivialize the greatest expressions of English-language culture.
But in the bowels of the psywar directorate, the concepts behind Basic were key to large-scale control of dangerous ``thought.'' A simplified English language limits the degrees of freedom of expression, and inhibits the transmission of meaning through metaphor. It is then easy to create a ``reality'' that can be shaped through the mass media, such as radio. A reduced language is a straitjacket for the human mind.
The British Ministry of Information, which controlled all broadcasting and news dissemination, decided to experiment with the effectiveness of BASIC was asked to produce was asked to produce some newscasts in Basic, which were broadcast in a number of foreign sections of the BBC, including the Indian Section, which included among its operatives 1984 author George Orwell and close friend Guy Burgess, who later was to be involved in Britain's biggest postwar Soviet spy scandal. The results were carefully monitored.
Those involved quickly discovered that, with some modification, the language was ideal to present a censored, edited version of the news. Since it lent itself to simple, declarative statements, it gave those statements the character of fact, even though the information being reported was heavily censored or even self-admitted propaganda.
Some historians have claimed that Orwell's ``Newspeak,'' in his 1984, is a simple parody of Basic. To the contrary: Orwell was one of the most avid supporters of the Basic concept of reduced language. What appealed to him most was its simplicity and its apparent ability to abolish ``jargon.'' He also thought that anything without real meaning, when reduced to its Basic translation, would be easily seen to be absurd. The utopian Orwell, in his letters, expressed concern over the power of the Ministry of Information (Miniform, as it was known) to control and manage the news. It was that aspect of the process, not Basic's degrading of the English language, that he parodied in 1984 with his ``Newspeak,'' controlled by Minitrue, the Ministry of Truth.
British "empires of the mind"
Following the presentation of a special report of the Ministry of Information on these findings in 1943, the Basic project was placed on ``highest priority'' in the War Cabinet, at the insistence of Prime Minister Winston Churchill. The project, now-declassified papers reveal, was to be expanded to include work in the United States. While not revealing the secret research on the psychological implications of Basic, Churchill became its cheerleader, promoting the new language as the basis for a renewed bond between Britain and its former colony, America. On Sept. 6, 1943, in a speech at Harvard University, Churchill called for ``a new Boston Tea Party,'' to overturn the English language and replace it with Basic. Telling his audience of Anglophiles that they were at the ``headstream'' of a mighty cultural sea change that would have a ``health-giving effect,'' he declared that the power to control language ``offer[s] far better prizes than taking away people's provinces or lands or grinding them down in exploitation. The empires of the future are the empires of the mind.''But the public side of the project met resistance from the British and American public, who, while not necessarily grasping the full implications of Basic, nonetheless resented being told how to speak. And there was no support forthcoming from the U.S. President, Franklin Roosevelt, who considered Basic ``silly.''
However, reports from the Ministry of Information to the special War Cabinet committee said that the language was unwieldy. Rather than overturn the English language, the reports argued, it were easier to simplify the latter's usage by example of the mass media news broadcasts. Radio newscasts, which had been made up of long descriptive commentaries before the war, took on the shorter formats that are featured today. The long sentences, often with literary overtones, gave way to shorter, more direct sentences and simple vocabulary.
Television news has adopted this linguistic style: simple direct sentences, with a very, very limited vocabulary. Television newscasts, never too informative and erudite, have become less so in recent years, as they were forcibly dumbed down. When Roone Arledge, the former head of ABC sports, took over its poorly rated news division in the mid-1970s, he demanded that news broadcasts be simplified and made easier to understand.
In a 1979 article in Washingtonian magazine, media expert and political scientist John David Barber supported Arledge's approach to the news, arguing that its language ``passes right over the head of the great lower half of the American electorate.'' He compiled a list of 31 words that he thought should be excised from a CBS news broadcast; included was the term ``political conspiracy.'' Wrote Barber, ``There is no way that [that] vocabulary can catch and hold the average high school graduate.'' Most news directors agree with that assessment: Vocabulary analysis of newscasts reveals that, other than specialized terms, names of places, and proper names, far less than Basic's 850-word vocabulary is employed. The vocabulary of non-news television is even more degraded and limited.
Recent studies have shown that the vocabulary of the average American, while not quite at the Basic level of 850 words (excluding proper nouns and specialized terms), is plunging toward that level.
